This tutorial will show you how to create a poll, our latest new feature. A poll is just a one page survey with a single multiple choice question. Polls are usually added to a website or blog post, giving every visitor to your site a chance to vote. Please be aware that in order to add the poll, you must have access to your website source code, be comfortable editing HTML or have a webmaster/developer who can help you.
For this example, we want to find out from our audience who they think will win the most medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
- The first step, just like creating a new survey, is to login, go to the Dashboard and then click on the "+Create" button at the top and then "Poll".
Enter a name and description for your poll and click "Create" to create your poll and go to the "Edit" page.
Click on the white and gray "+" and then "Add poll details".
Enter the poll question in the first box and the poll choices in the second box. Press Enter after each option. Click "Save" when you're done.
If you want to see how your poll will look when it's on your site, click on the "Preview" button. Your poll will open in a separate browser tab.
Now click on "Distribute" in the menu bar at the top when you're ready to add our poll code to your website or blog. First, choose the width of your poll (a). This can either be in percent (for example 100% of your site page or column) or pixels (b). Then click "Update" (c).
Finally, select and copy the code in the grey box and then paste it in the source code of the page where you want the poll to go. Your poll is now live and anyone can submit a response.
For this example, we added our poll to the column of a web page.
Note: If you're adding the poll to a Wordpress blog, you need to first click on the "Text" mode and then paste code from step 7 above.
